The “Sarlak” sofa seat pad is a luxurious seat pad made from finest ecologically& socially responsible yak cloth that is woven from precious hand-combed yak wool which is available only once a year.

For this project, we explored the art of natural dyeing and experimented with natural indigo to pigment finest yak fabric.

The modernistic indigo –dyed triangle builds the seat pad’s visual focal point, centred between sculpted embossments and a waterfall of natural filaments that remind of Mongolia’s mystic and wild landscapes and rich, colourful culture.

By using this ethical& sustainably produced luxurious fabric, we support Mongolian herders’ traditional way of life and help to protect their land and animals.
